Helen is a member of the UK Sport Lottery Funded World-Class Performance Squad. Having been a member of the Team GB Triathlon squad for Rio 2016, Helen has competed at three different Olympic Games. She has achieved more ITU World Triathlon Series podium finishes than any other British woman and has won the ITU world title twice.
Three-time Olympian, Helen lives and trains in Bridgend. She secured Rio 2016 Olympic selection with a dramatic win over ITU World Champion, Gwen Jorgensen, at the ITU World Triathlon Series event in the Gold Coast. She reached the podium at two further ITU World Series occasions in 2016, finishing third in Abu Dhabi and Stockholm.
In the London 2012 Olympics, Helen achieved what was the best performance ever by a British woman at an Olympic Games when she finished 5th. She was in medal contention up to the final stages when the four other athletes in the lead group began to pull away.
Helen was the ITU World Champion in 2011, having won the title in Beijing, as well as also having won the title in 2008 on a cold, rainy day in Vancouver. She won the 2008 title as Helen Tucker before her marriage to fellow British Triathlon Olympian and coach, Marc Jenkins.
Helen has been out of the sport for the last season due to becoming a new mother and also rectifying injury. Helen is currently slowly getting back into physical activity but looks forward to training and racing again in the future.
Come and hear from Helen on her aims for 2018 and beyond at the Show.
